About CIB
CIB Vlaanderen, in full Confederatie van Immobiliënberoepen Vlaanderen ("the confederation of real estate professions of Flanders"), is by far the biggest and most representative of all corporations of real estate professionals and is home not only to the brokers but also to promoters, legal experts a.s.o.
CIB is accredited by the High Counsel for Self Employment and Small Businesses and is organised regionally : CIB Vlaanderen (Flanders), CIB Francophonie (French speaking) and CIB Brussels are autonomous organizations closely connected by CEPI (European Counsel of Real estate Professions) via CIB National. CIB Vlaanderen has 6 local divisions (one for each province plus, because of the seasonal tourist activities an extra one for the coastal region). Within the confederation each real estate profession has its own federation.
Some 1000 principal members (agencies) generate 60% of the turnover within the business. Since each agency gathers, 2,5 to 3 acknowledged brokers, CIB represents between 2.500 and 3.000 acknowledged real estate agents in Belgium. CIB Vlaanderen works in close connection with CIBru and CIB Francophonie.
